Actually bought this for a slightly different purpose - I'm building a brick smoker pit and needed a feed door with air control. This fits the bill perfectly. Haven't completed the project yet, but the product seems well built. Service and shipping was prompt and courteous from Midland Hardware - couldn't be happier there. Since I'm going to be using it outdoors, I'll be putting a few extra coats of high temperature grill paint on it, as it seems to only have a single coat on it, but other than that I'm quite happy with the purchase.

Not Strong

This product has worked well so far. Expect for the leg in the back. Before I even had any wood through it when I was moving it (one stones in are pole barn) the leg broke in two at the second bolt for the leg. Not a big deal (probably shouldn't have been pushing it through stones to begin with). Eventually I will weld it or drill holes to put a bracket to put them back together. However for now a small cinder block works. When starting burn out side first so all oil and paint can be burnt off the surface. Not a pretty center peace but for farms it works. I guess you could paint it with fire paint. I use it a lot to heat the pole barn and also to heat metal up and works great. However if you have kids around you will need to get a fence up around it. Overall great machine.

Broke within seconds

Bought this kit to install on my homemade maple syrup evaporator. I used them on a 300 gal fuel tank instead of a 55 gal drum. I set up the legs on the floor about where they would need to be and started to move the tank on top of them, the tank bumped one of the legs and it tipped over. Mind you the legs are on the floor so when it tipped it fell LESS THEN AN INCH and broke... If i didn't need the door and pipe collar I would have already sent this back. The poor quality of the product was apparent as soon as it was unpacked. Do NOT order this product, try a different brand, it can't be any worse.
